In co-operation with Electrosonic and Mediatec, DAV Partner has been trusted to supply sound and image technology and a 3D cinema to Experium in Lindvallen. This project has been characterised by high demands in respect of interior and design, specifically their ability to enrich the overall experience. Sound and light quality requirements were high while their integration, safety and placing were devised in such a way that they did not conflict with other aspects of interior design. These elements have come together and expressed themselves through the creation of fully controllable environments throughout, where demands in terms of operability and simplicity are prioritised.

Exhibitions, festivals, World Cups, galas, conferences, roadside installations, football, royal birthdays, congresses, trotting, loads of TV productons and much, much more. At Mediatec, 2009 has been packed full of exciting events – and we’re rounding it off with the last Swedish TV production of the year, the Midnight Bells.
From everyone at Mediatec, have a very happy 2010!
During the year have we invested in two new remote camera systems, the SONY Z-700 and Sportcams 4 HD from TV Skyline. The cameras have different areas of application and are both High Definition and Standard Definition capable.
Setup can be done as stand alone or together with multiple cameras in fibre network. Preset positions are available and the cameras can be operated over long distances both in and outdoors.
The Sportcam 4 has a unique fibre interface over which HD and SD signals, audio, communication, remote data and even 220-voltage power can be sent. This makes it possible to locate the camera up two 2km away from the OB unit and supply everything using just one simple SMPTE fiber cable.
For more information, please visit our webpage under Wireless and Camera Solutions.
A downloadable technical specification will soon be available at the product site.

In a joint project with Atracta Road (owned by Mediatec and Atracta) and Svevia, the last LED screens have been installed beside the E4 motorway in Stockholm. A big thanks to everyone who was involved in the project.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self- organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.*

About TED
TED is an annual event where some of the world’s leading thinkers and doers are invited to share what they are most passionate about. “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future. And in fact, the event is broader still, showcasing ideas that matter in any discipline. Attendees have called it “the ultimate brain spa” and “a four-day journey into the future.” The diverse audience — CEOs, scientists, creatives, philanthropists — is almost as extraordinary as the speakers, who have included Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Paul Simon, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck and Bono.
TED was first held in Monterey, California, in 1984. In 2001, Chris Anderson’s Sapling Foundation acquired TED from its founder, Richard Saul Wurman. In recent years, TED has expanded to include an international conference, TEDGlobal; media initiatives, including TED Talks and TED.com; and the TED Prize. TED2010, “What the world Needs Now,” will be held Feb 9-13, 2010, in Long Beach, California, with a simulcast in Palm Springs, California. TEDGlobal 2009, “The Substance of Things Not Seen,” will be held July 21–24, 2009, in Oxford, UK and TEDIndia will be held in November 2009.
Sign Scandinavia is the leading trade fair for signage, outdoor advertising and Digital Signage. This year’s fair, which took place between the 4th and 6th of November, saw around 110 exhibitors from the Scandinavian sign industry gather to present a wider range of products and solutions than ever before.
The fair was a great success, with 20% more visitors than last year getting the chance to see live solutions, product material, machines, software and complete products for traditional and digital signs, large format displays and visual communication. This year, the interest for LED and interactive display solutions was greater than ever and a new aspect of the fair was the rapidly expanding Digital Signage branch.
Mediatec presented its 88m2 mobile LED trailer outside the fair and in the exhibition hall itself, the tecVIZ SPORT™ system was demonstrated on a 4mm Chromatek LED panel.
One of the fair’s biggest talking points was Mediatec’s ongoing installation of the tecVIZ TRAFFIC™ information system on Essingeleden – a joint project with Atracta. The system generated extra interest as one of the screens is situated at one of the entries to the exhibition area. Read more about tecVIZ SPORT™ and tecVIZ TRAFFIC™ here!
Mediatec has been chosen as official sponsor and partner for EXPO 2010 in Shanghai. We will deliver services to the project, which will take place between 1st May and 31st October.
On Tuesday the 13th of October, Massteknik Sweden AB, Massteknik UK Ltd, Mediateknikk AS and Primetec AB unite under the common brand Mediatec. This means that every company in the Mediatec Group is now under the Mediatec name and brand. Previously, all companies operating in the broadcasting field changed name to Mediatec Broadcast.
“For many years and on many projects, we’ve worked side by side, so this union represents a natural step towards packaging our common services and providing customers with a unique offer”, says Kenneth Paterson, CEO of the Mediatec Group.
Today, Mediatec has around 300 employees in seven countries and a yearly turnover of approximately €85 million. The company’s projects include many international events including the Frankfurt International Motor Show, several Olympic Games, the Eurovision Song Contest, the production and broadcast of football in Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland and international meetings and conferences.
“Our vision is to operate locally and internationally to the same high levels of quality and creativity as previously. This union will provide synergy our customers will benefit from,” adds Kenneth Paterson.
To coincide with the change to a common brand, Mediatec will restructure its products and services into four offers: Broadcast, Display, Event and Installation.
For the second time the best hockey league in the world, NHL, arranged two premier games of the regular season to be played in Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden. The games were played 2-3 October between Detroit Red Wings and St Louis Blues.
In addition, Detroit Red Wings played a practice game against Swedish hockey team Färjestads BK in Löfbergs Lila Arena, Karlstad.
Mediatec Broadcast is again proud to be chosen by NHL Broadcast for the World Feed Production assignments. Mediatec Broadcst supplied a production and technology solution for the client with HD1, SNG SWE35, Mediatec Arenanet and a Video Goal Judge system. We also provided Viasat Sport with an on-site add-on production . Finally, we supplied NHL with an Arena Production for the spectators in Ericsson Globe.
We are of course excited to be involved in such an unique event. We were also very excited by the exceptional good reviews we've got from the client, NHL Broadcast. In a report, it was stated that all technology and all crew were considered apt for any assignment in North America and both parties agreed on further collaborations.
Mediatec has had a long working relationship with Modo Hockey. Since 2002, Mediatec Broadcast has handled arena production at the Swedbank Arena (as well the Malmö Arena and Stockholm Globe). For the 2009/2010 Elite Series season, Mediatec has produced the Modo Hockey intro that is shown on the arena’s media cube as well as logos timed to coincide with the match start.
